Palace marquee to get updated

Palace Sports & Entertainment’s 94-foot tall Palace marquee, located just south of the Lapeer Road exit on I-75 in Auburn Hills, is getting its first major updating since it was erected in 1996. The project, which replaces the original one-color amber light displays, will be installed the week of July 26. The update will include twin 22-by-32-foot full-color LED digital billboard displays, one facing northbound traffic and the other southbound. The two displays will show a rotating list of events coming to the The Palace, DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival. It can also do special announcements including traffic instructions and Detroit Pistons games scores.
