MEA-TV adds AWWL Big Time Wrestling program
MEA-TV of Southfield and AWWL Big Time Wrestling have announced a deal that will add the Original Big Time Wrestling program to Detroit and 5 million other homes. The AWWL Big Time Wrestling promotion is expanding with a new 30-minute program on Saturday nights at 9:30 p.m. on the MEA-TV network. The program will air on Comcast Digital Cable Channel 667 and Cox Cable Channel 480 starting Aug, 14. It will also air in the future simultaneously on the station’s website, meatv-radio.com. The program will be a combination of exclusive classic matches featuring legends such as The Sheik, Bobo Brazil, and Dick The Bruiser as well as a mix of new stars for today’s generation such as AWWL Heavyweight Champion, Whipdog Johnson, High Risk Damien Michaels, Big Rookie, Sabbath, Tim Horner Jr. and the Human Highlight Reel Sabu.


  Russell elected to Oakland Employment Diversity Council
The Oakland County Employment Diversity Council elected Frank Russell as its chairman. Russell, is a charter member of the council and has been one of the forces behind its growth of five initial participants in 2000 to more than 350 current organizational members.
Other board members were elected or re-elected as follows: Ed Poisson, Oakland County IT director, was re-elected as parliamentarian, and Linda DeVillez, a City of Southfield supervisor, was re-elected as corresponding secretary. The following board members were re-elected: Michael Lowe, manager at HBW Insurance and Financial Services Inc.; Beth Nuccio, director of career services at Baker College; Cheryl Buscemi, president of My Media Resource; and Melva Allen, Michigan Works-Employment Training Specialist. Andrew Pettress of Andrew Pettress & Company and Karen DeCuir-DiNicola of General Motors, were elected as new board members. Joi Cunningham, director of diversity at Oakland University, was appointed to a vacant board position.
