Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel’s Northville/Novi office collected nearly 40 backpacks for children and teens heading back to school. The backpacks were presented to the Northville Civic Concern, an organization that provides services and distributes goods to those in need in the Northville area.
Lori Crysler, sales manager of the Northville/Novi office said, “The Northville Civic Concern wants to let people know, however, that they are always in desperate need of food and monetary donations. Gibb named communications VP for CPA association
The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants announced Debbie Gibb of Lake Orion has joined the association as vice president of communications.
Gibb is responsible for the oversight of association communications and public relations initiatives including media relations, image campaigns, marketing, and management of departmental staff. Prior to joining the association,
Gibb was previously associate executive director of the Student & Youth Travel Association in Lake Orion and director of channel marketing at Entertainment Publications in Troy.

Consumers Energy employee’s volunteer effort recognized
The Consumers Energy Foundation has awarded a $600 grant to a Macomb County organization to recognize outstanding volunteerism by a utility employee.
Terrance D. Conklin, a gas service worker at the Macomb service center, performed
180 hours of volunteer service over the past 12 months with the Macomb Cougars, an AAU basketball team in Clinton Township. He served as an assistant coach.
The Volunteer Investment Program grant will be used for uniforms and basketball equipment. The grant reflects a doubled amount through the foundation.
