Advance Auto Parts store opens doors

Advance Auto Parts Inc. opened its first store in Waterford Township at 4879 Dixie Hwy. on Thursday. Steve Sulenski is the new general manager and works with nine other team members. A 29-year veteran of the automotive and retail sales industries, Sulenski has been with the Advance Auto Parts Team for almost seven years. The new store offers auto parts and national brands as well as several free services, such as windshield wiper and battery installation. Customers also can drop off used motor oil and batteries for recycling. The store is open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and  9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

BBB, GreenPath Debt hosting shred event

The Better Business Bureau, (BBB) and GreenPath Debt Solutions are hosting a Secure Your ID Day community shred event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the BBB offices at the City Center Building, 26777 Central Park Blvd., Southfield. Attendees may bring up to three normal sized boxes or bags of sensitive paper documents to be shredded on the spot for free. A $10 donation per box/bag exceeding the promotion will be charged to support the BBB Educational Foundation. All shredded paper from the event will be recycled. Chamber hosts marketing seminar

The Eastpointe-Roseville Chamber of Commerce is hosting an “E-mail Marketing Seminar” from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Roseville Recreation Center, Room B, 18195 Sycamore St., Roseville. The cost is $5 for members or $10 for nonmembers and will include coffee and a light breakfast. Attendees may make reservations by Oct. 26 by calling 586-776-5520.

Chamber decks the halls with auction

The Eastpointe-Roseville Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 19th annual “Deck the Halls” Christmas auction from 5:30-10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Eastpointe Manor, 24611 Gratiot Ave., Eastpointe. Cost is $20 per person if tickets are purchased in advance, which also provides preferred seating, or $25 per person at the door. A silent auction will start at 5:30 p.m. and a live auction at 6:30 p.m. There will be an open bar, soft drinks, hors d’oeuvres, pasta station and desserts. To get tickets, call 586-776-5520.

Mount Clemens Medical Center adds doctor to staff

Dr. Christina A. Richardson has joined the medical staff of Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center as a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She practices with Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at 8180 26 Mile Road, Ste. 105 in Shelby Township.
