Women in Transition conference is 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Baker College, 1500 University Dr. The conference provides information on choosing and preparing for a career, getting into college or job training and obtaining financial and study skills help. The Women’s Business Forum of the Troy Chamber presents its annual Simply Shopping event, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Somerset Collection, 2800 West Big Beaver Road, Troy. Legal aspects of e-commerce to be discussed at seminar
A seminar about the legal aspects of e-commerce and on-line marketing will be presented by John T. Carter, Esq. of Carter and Affiliates, P.C. The seminar is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the Oakland Room of the Oakland Center on the campus of Oakland University, 2200 N. Squirrel Road, Rochester.

Veterans Entrepreneurial Training Conference set for Nov. 10
The 5th Annual Southeastern Michigan V.E.T. conference begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Michigan State University Management Education Center, 811 W. Square Lake Road, Troy.
There will be a Vets Night Out networking event from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9.
 The Vets Night Out will also be held at the Management Education Center and there is no admission fee. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available.
This year’s conference will feature 16 breakout sessions and a pair of dynamic keynote speakers. Among the topics to be covered in the workshops will be 10 steps to doing business with TACOM, selling to DLA, starting a business, financing a business and selling to the Army Corps of Engineers.
General Dynamics Land System, Citizens Bank and the Karmanos Cancer Institute, are sponsoring the conference.
