Henry Ford Hospice offers volunteer training
Henry Ford Hospice is offering a 20-hour volunteer training program for caring men and women who are interested in helping provide support to terminally ill patients and their families. The program begins Tuesday, Oct. 5 and continues through Oct. 28 from 1:30-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Henry Ford Macomb, Warren Campus, 13355 East 10 Mile Road, Warren. GM fires ‘fewer than 10’ Michigan, Ohio employees for violating e-mail policy
General Motors Corp.officials have confirmed that the company has dismissed a handful of employees at sites in Michigan and Ohio for violating the company’s e-mail policy. The employees were turned in by other employees and the total number of employees was “fewer than 10,” according to a source with knowledge of the firings. GM spokeswoman Kimberly Carpenter declined to comment on the incident.

Sav-On Phil’s expands pharmacy, extends hours
Sav-On Phil’s Pharmacy, located at 35 North Walnut Street in downtown Mount Clemens, has completed a major renovation and expansion. Hours also were extended. The store is now open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays.

MontAd adds new client for full-service marketing
Wixom-based MontAd, a full-service marketing agency, has been named agency of record for Distribution Service Technologies of Lake Forest, California. According to Rita Siedlaczek, a partner at MontAd, the firm will develop and implement a range of programs to help brand and position the e-commerce supplier in its markets.
“Distribution Service Technologies is an aftermarket technology company, and we needed a firm that was experienced with both technology and aftermarket organizations,” said Stan Gowisnock, president and chief executive officer, DST.
