Homeland Security Group hosts grant workshop

Michigan private sector companies are encouraged to attend the “Out of the Box” workshop 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Automation Alley Headquarters, 2675 Bellingham Drive, Troy. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how partnering with nonprofits that are seeking government and private grants can help grow their businesses. The cost is $20 MIHSC members and $40 for non-MIHSC members. Registration is required. Visit www.mihsc.org to register.

Touch of Life celebrates 10 years with open house Saturday

Touch of Life Chiropractic, 46755 Hayes Road, Shelby Township, is celebrating 10 years of chiropractic care from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be complimentary exams, consultations and X-rays for new patients, as well as hockey pucks being signed by Red Wings alumni including Dino Ciccarelli, hockey legend Mickey Redmond, Shawn Burr, Brent Fedyk and Pet Peake. Pucks will be available for purchase and proceeds will go to Red Wing Alumni charity of choice. The Shelby Township Fire Department will have a fire truck on hand and the Macomb County Sheriff Department will have badges and coloring books for the kids. There will also be music and refreshments provided.

Cici’s Pizza awards 52-inch Sony TV to Rochester Hills resident

David Onnie of Rochester Hills was one of five nationwide grand prize winners in the Cici’s Pizza’s “Sip and Rip” contest. His winning cup was purchased at the Cici’s located at 13953 Hall Road, Utica. The grand prize included a 52-inch Sony Bravia television, Sony Playstation PS3 and PSP-3000, a $500 GameStop gift card and a $500 Cici’s gift card.
