International trade event features Google executiveThe 2010 International District Export Council conference, attended by business leaders, entrepreneurs and government officials, will be at the Marriott Renaissance, 400 Renaissance Drive, Detroit and also at the Windsor Hotel & Casino in Windsor, Ontario, Canada Oct. 24-27. The conference titled, “Capitalizing on America’s Export Advantages: Green and Innovation” seeks to stimulate the economy and create high paying jobs by boosting exports and expanding international trade.
Michael Ducker, COO and executive vice president of Memphis-based FedEx Express, and Michal Lorenc, online sales and operations manager for Google, will speak at the conference. OU offers business intelligence certificate programOakland University’s School of Business Administration is partnering with Altair — a global provider of technology — to offer a new data mining and business intelligence certificate program. Utilizing 60 hours of classroom instruction from OU faculty and Altair staff, this post-baccalaureate certificate program will focus on theory, case studies and using HiQube business intelligence software to make competitive business decisions.
The program also incorporates a 100-hour, on-site internship, which allows students to apply newly acquired skills, all while making  professional contacts.Prospective students must hold a bachelor’s or masters of science degree, preferably in the fields of IT, computer science, engineering, business, sales, marketing, operations management, procurement or finance. Classes begin on Thursday, Nov. 4.
