Transway Data enters Pepsi Refresh Project for ‘Green IT’

The Pepsi Refresh Project, a groundbreaking effort that funds ideas, announced that Troy-based Transway Data, a privately-owned web hosting and design company founded in 2004, received the most votes in October and is on track to be collectively awarded a $25,000 grant.
The organization’s idea is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the purchase of six state-of-the-art, energy-efficient servers and an awareness campaign to educate the public about the benefits of environmentally sustainable computing.

Banka appointed to Employee Benefit Plans Expert Panel
 Theresa Banka, CPA, of Farmington Hills, the lead technical partner in Plante & Moran’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit practice, was appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Employee Benefit Plans Expert Panel for a one-year term.
Banka is responsible for the development of the firm’s employee benefit plan audit approach and oversees the technical group that performs quality control reviews. She joined the company in 1993 and was named partner in 2003.

Primerica rep promoted to regional VP
Primerica, headquartered in Duluth, Georgia, promoted Roderick Threets to Regional Vice President, after one year on the job. Threets is based in the Southfield location. Legal Aid appoints new VP of Human Resources
Gail M. Wilson of Lathrup Village is the new Vice President of Human Resources for the Legal Aid and Defender Association, Inc. of Detroit. Wilson was previously director of human resources and labor relations for Southfield Public Schools, director of human resources for the 36th District Court in Detroit and a division human resources manager for Home Depot, U.S.A. Wilson is also an attorney who practiced labor and employment law, including practice with the law firm of Miller Cohen, PLLC.

Leadership Detroit selects Zana Tomich
Zana Tomich of Birmingham, a partner at the Bloomfield Hills-based law firm Dalton, Tomich & Pensler, PLC, was selected to participate in Leadership Detroit Class XXXII. Brown named to International Insurance group
Stephen P.
