Affinity Group  and Kensington Valley Credit Unions merge

Affinity Group Credit Union, based in Pontiac, and Kensington Valley Community Credit Union, based in Highland Township, will merge. State regulators have approved the merger, and Kensington Valley members voted unanimously in favor of the partnership.
“I am very pleased that Kensington Valley Community Credit Union chose to join Affinity Group Credit Union as part of our unique Credit Union Family,” said Thomas M. Miller, president and CEO of Affinity Group Credit Union.
Using the Affinity business model will allow Kensington Valley Community to continue to market the KVC brand as a part of Affinity Group Credit Union. In addition, three members of the KVCCU board will join the AGCU board; all KVCCU staff will become employees of AGCU; and the Highland office will remain open to serve all current and new members in the surrounding community.
The combined credit union will have assets of $134 million, 5 branches, and more than 20,000 members, the majority of which live in Southeast Michigan.
