E-Commerce Spending Up Despite Economy

Despite the sluggish economy it seems more people are continuing the trend of buying online. comScore recently reported that U.S. online spending hit $37.5 billion in the second quarter of this year, up 14% from one year ago. Read the full report here. comScore chairman Gian Fulgoni said, "It's clear that consumers are continuing to shift to the online channel, with almost $1 in every $10 of discretionary spending now occurring online". What's more impressive is this growth rate represented the seventh consecutive quarter of positive year-over-year growth and third consecutive quarter of double-digit growth rates.

Convenience and competitive prices are believed to be two of the key reasons driving this surge in e-commerce spending. At Azox we know how important an online selling environment can be for a company, and we have helped contribute to this upward movement in online spending by helping leading companies across retail, distribution, and non-profit industries sell more online and streamline their business with their back-office financial systems.
