Pirate party launches new Caribbean menuT.G.I. Friday’s is hosting free pirate parties to launch its new Caribbean menu, 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 1 at 591 West Big Beaver in Troy.
Activities will include live calypso bands, free tastes of the new Caribbean menu, pirate trivia contest for a chance to win prizes and an appearance by radio station 89X at the Troy event and HOT 102.7 at the Livonia store from 4 to 6 p.m., both locations.
Volunteer donations in the form of doubloons and/or pieces of eight will also be collected to benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. Visit TGIFridays.com for more information.

Apply for ‘Dream Team’Walsh College is accepting applications for a free “Dream Team” assessment and recommendation for Troy small businesses.
The “Dream Teams” are attorneys, accountants, bankers, marketers, innovators, and technology specialists who are part of “Take Off With Troy,” a partnership between Walsh College, the City of Troy, and the Troy Chamber of Commerce. At least five companies selected will advance to the next round of interviews in August. Two winning companies will be named in September. To be considered for a free “Dream Team” assessment and recommendation, businesses must: be fully based in Troy; employ at least five people; have been in business at for least three years and gross an average of $500,000 in sales, not including 2009. Applications are due July 7.
