Lakes Chamber hosts Oakland County chamber gathering
The Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting an evening of networking with professionals from chambers throughout Oakland County, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the Bayside Sports Grille, 142 E. Walled Lake Drive in Walled Lake. The cost is $10 in advance or $15 at the door. There will be appetizers and a cash bar, as well as a door prize drawing for pre-registered guests. Mattress To Go of Shelby Township recently made a donation of five new twin mattresses and 50 queen pillowcases to the Mount Clemens Turning Point Shelter, a local domestic violence shelter. The U.S. Small Business Administration, Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center, Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Huntington Bank and other cosponsors are teaming up to provide a procurement matchmaking event for small business owners who are seeking to expand their business with government agencies. The half-day event will be at Schoolcraft College, VisTaTech Center, 18600 Haggerty Road in Livonia, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1.
Invited buyers include: Counties of Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne; Federal Aviation Administration; Wayne County Airport Authority; Michigan Dept. of Transportation; Selfridge Air National Guard Base; Cities of Farmington Hills, Southfield and Troy; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Attendees will be able to meet with the buyers from federal, state and local government agencies. The $25 registration fee includes a continental breakfast.
