DTE named one of
nation’ top utilities
DTE Energy recently was named among the nation’s top utilities for economic development by Site Selection magazine.
The designation is based on calendar year 2009 performance in four categories — capital investment, job creation, capital investment per capita and jobs per 10,000 in population. It also takes into account innovative programs and services that meet the needs of industrial customers, creativity and flexibility in working with corporate clients to facilitate project activity, the input of leading site selection consultants, and extensive interviews with company executives who have located deals.

DETROIT
Comerica Bank contributes to Oakland County nonprofits

As part of an ongoing commitment to communities in Michigan, Comerica Bank recently announced its contribution of more than $1.4 million to Michigan nonprofits during the first half of 2010, including several Oakland County-based organizations. Donations to local organizations included the Michigan Colleges Foundation and JVS Detroit in Southfield and Pontiac-based St. Joseph Mercy and the Greater Pontiac Community Coalition.
Through Comerica Bank and the Comerica Charitable Foundation, Comerica gives to organizations and programs that support education, economic self-sufficiency, neighborhood revitalization, health care access, diversity and inclusion, and civic and community programs.
So far during 2010, Comerica has contributed $1,472,848 and provided about 14,199 hours, or $296,040 worth of employee volunteer labor hours to organizations throughout the state.

Corace awarded customer assistance certificate

Clinton Township resident Maria Corace was awarded a certificate of appreciation for customer assistance from the Michigan branch of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Corace is employed at Walsh College in Troy as an executive assistant. She has worked at Walsh College for 23 years, 14 of which were at the University Center campus at Macomb Community College in Clinton Township.

PTM Fraser expands reach

Prototype Tooling and Manufacturing, now known as PTM Fraser, is combining with PTM Corp. in Fair Haven to reach more clients in the metal forming industry. PTM Fraser will be an asset with their large press capacity, boosting capabilities from 200 to 1,000 tons, adding Kirksite, steel dies and other upgrades. PTM Corp. is an industry leader in small- to large-size metal stampings, prototype, assemblies, tools and dies.

ROSEVILLE
Cracker Barrel honored

Cracker Barrel Old Country store in Roseville has been named “Best” in the 2010 Zagat Fast Food Survey for the best breakfast available at a full service chain restaurant. More than 6,500 regular chain restaurant diners shared their opinions on 39 full service restaurants.

METRO DETROIT
$1,000 raised for multiple sclerosis

Better Made Snack Foods and National Coney Island teamed up for a one day chip sale at 20 National Coney Island locations throughout metropolitan Detroit in August for multiple sclerosis and were able to raise $1,000 for the Michigan chapter.
