The Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce Business Expo ’10 is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Orchard Mall center court, 6445 Orchard Lake Road .
The expo includes booths from retail stores, business and service providers, and nonprofit organizations, as well as free food tastings.

The Community House is offering “Legal Basics” for businesses from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at The Community House, 380 South Bates Street.
The workshop provides new and existing Michigan entrepreneurs an understanding of the “key legal considerations” when operating a business entity, and an overview of how to protect their business interests while minimizing the risks of liability.
There also will be a discussion about establishing a short- and long-term succession plan for business.
Instructor John Carter specializes in business and commercial law. He offers courses through the Michigan Small Business Development Centers, Oakland County Business Community Center, and local community colleges.

The Old Newsboys’ Goodfellow Fund of Detroit will honor Ford Motor Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Alan Mulally, at the charity’s 21st annual Tribute Breakfast at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Cobo Center, 1 Washington Blvd.
Tickets for the benefit event are $150 each, $1,500 for a table of 10 or $5,000 for a Santa Circle table. Revenue will help provide 36,000 holiday gift packages containing clothing, books, candy and toys for needy children in the area.
