Feb. 15 Series begins for entrepreneurs

The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber is partnering with the Miller Canfield law firm for a four-part series to help a new wave of entrepreneurs find the necessary capital to either launch a new venture or grow it to the next level. The first segment is Feb. 15, will focus on financing options available at banks, credit unions and venture capital firms. Scheduled panelists include LeAnn Auer, executive director of the Michigan Venture Capital Association; Scott Wolffis, senior vice president and business banking market manager for Huntington Bank and M.B. Ducher, vice president of buiness services for Central Corporate Credit Unions.
The second session, set for May 24, will explore the myriad government loan and grant programs available to startup and second stage businesses. It will be followed on July 26 with the program will delve into diversity and financing, and how to tap into specialty and ethnic markets, while the fourth session on Sept. 27 will address global financing options and how to attract foreign capital to your business venture.
